The Northern Ontario Ag Conference is hosting a student research poster contest in 2027! The contest provides a valuable platform for students to showcase their innovative research in agriculture, engage with professionals and producers, and contribute to the agricultural community in Northern Ontario. We encourage all eligible students to participate and share their findings in a clear, concise, and visually appealing manner.

All posters must be submitted by January 15, 2027.

Presentation and Selection Criteria

• Students will be asked to present their research posters to a panel of judges on Thursday February 4th in Sudbury, Ontario.

• Winners will be chosen based on the quality of your poster, the quality of your presentation, and the application of your research to agriculture in Northern Ontario.

• The first place winner will receive a prize of $3,000.00

• The second place winner will receive a prize of $2,000.00

• The third place winner will receive a price of $1,000.00

​Eligibility

• The contest is open to current students enrolled in undergraduate programs, graduate programs, or recent graduates conducting research relevant to agriculture in Northern Ontario.

• Participants must be affiliated with an accredited academic institution.

Attending the conference

• All poster presenters will be required to register for and attend the Northern Ontario Ag Conference on February 5 & 6.  A discounted student rate will be provided.

Important Dates

• Submissions are due Jan 15

• Research poster presentations will be Thursday Feb 4th in Sudbury, ON

• Awards will be presented at the awards banquet on Friday Feb 5th at the conference.
